The Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF) 2023 was won, for the first time, in Gabon, to finance a revolutionary training program for teachers and educators in STIMA (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Arts).

This is how, in collaboration with the United States Embassy in Gabon and Sao Tome & Principe, the NGO Gabrotter and Marben Foundation will organize a series of workshops, in Libreville, from September 29 to October 4, 2023, at Port-Gentil, from October 6 to 12, 2023 and in Lambaréné, from October 14 to 20, 2023. Objective: to introduce teachers and educators to ideas and concepts on how they can create an immersive learning environment and practice with few resources, through manufacturing and DIY, to encourage students to follow courses in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Arts (STIMA).

An opportunity made possible thanks, in particular, to funding from the United States Embassy in Gabon and the collaborative efforts of educators Dorcas Elisha from Nigeria and Pascal Ango and Rita Aboghe from Gabon, with the contribution of Dr. Jacquelyn H. Berry from the American University in Cairo, which brings its expertise to this effort to transform STIMA teaching methods.

These training courses follow those organized in Libreville and Port-Gentil at the end of the 2nd quarter of this year which consisted of introducing participants to coding with the Micro:bit, thanks to the NGO Gabtrotter and its American partner, the Digital Harbor Foundation Center of Excellence for Innovation in Technology Education.

Places are limited and registrations, free, can be done online via the link: https://forms.gle/zJ7zs5YDUGnDiAgi6
