This is how Myriam Agambouè Epouse Baeta, Head of the H.S.S.E. Department at Maurel & Prom, a company operating in the oil sector, expressed herself during the launch of the Pink October campaign in early October.


Teaming up with the Welcome Assistance Médicale clinic, the company mobilized teams that crisscrossed the districts of the economic capital to reach as many women as possible. In the end, 358 women were sensitized. 348 of them were screened for breast cancer where 25 cases were found to be suspicious. 283 were screened for cervical cancer, with 24 suspected cases.

The two partners extended their collaboration to the city of Lambaréné, from October 24 to 28, where, out of 461 consultations, 76 were for cancer screening, while the others were for medicine, HIV screening, vaccination and prenatal consultation. Here, two suspected cases were identified for breast cancer.


All suspected cases will have to be confirmed or refuted by further analysis in Libreville. According to both parties, this partnership has been a positive experience.
