It is the big top of the Pierre Louis Agondjo Okawé municipal fair that the oil operator Maurel & Prom S.A. has chosen as a framework for welcoming populations wishing to be tested on the occasion of the October pink campaign to fight breast cancer and that of the cervix.

From October 23 to 28, Portgentillais are invited to come and meet the specialists who have been mobilized for the occasion. This includes a sports coach for advice on sports activities at home, at a lower cost, a nutritionist doctor for dietetics and food hygiene, a psychologist, midwives andwomen, etc. Those who wish can also take HIV/AIDS tests. A staff including Issempedjeno Ngaka, DGA of Maurel & Prom S.A., was able to measure the dedication during his visit.

This activity, which Maurel & Prom S.A. organizes every year, is part of its social responsibility missions for communities. «For our company, it is a question of supporting women who want to be tested early, in order to prevent female cancers, all for free,» stressed Myriam Agambouè, wife Baéta, head of the health, health, safety and security department.

According to Katy Stricia Nkolo, a midwife, awareness-raising campaigns need to be intensified in the neighbourhoods, as of the 85 people received on the first day, 24 were being tested for the first time, whereas this program began ten years ago. The teams mobilized for this will criss-cross the four boroughs to invite women but also men to come to be screened.
